Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke (popularly known as Davido) is slated to headline the UnitedMasters Grammy Weekend Concert as part of the festivities leading up to the 66th Academy Grammy Awards.

The concert, featuring Davido, Dominican rapper Tokischa, and South Africa-based DJ Artist Uncle Waffles, is scheduled to take place at the Hollywood Palladium on Friday, 2nd February, ahead of the awards ceremony on Sunday, 4th February at Crypto Com Arena in Los Angeles.

UnitedMasters made this known on its Instagram account on Thursday.

Last year’s event drew over 2,500 fans and boasted a star-studded audience, including Jay Z, Beyonce, Nas, DJ Khaled, Wiz Khalifa, Future, Damson Idris, and other notable figures.

Davido’s recent success has been highlighted by the accomplishment of his comeback album, “Timeless,” surpassing one billion streams.

The album not only garnered widespread recognition but also secured three Grammy nominations for Best Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Global Music Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Reacting to his Grammy nomination, Davido emphasised resilience in the face of delays, especially considering the prior recognition of his contemporaries, Burna Boy and Wizkid, by the academy.

In October, Davido received honours from Atlanta and Georgia, where specific days were dedicated to praising him. Atlanta declared 18th November 2023, as Davido’s Day, while Fulton County, Georgia, designated November 21, 2023, as Davido Appreciation Day.

Additionally, the Georgia State Assembly acknowledged Davido as an “Outstanding Georgia Citizen”.
