Navy appoints Oladejo NNS Beecroft Commander

The Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft has appointed Commodore Rafiu Oladejo as its 23rd Commander.

This was disclosed in a statement by the NNS BEECROFT Base Information Officer, Lieutenant Hussaini Ibrahim on Saturday.

According to the statement, the handing and takeover ceremony of the command between Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga and Oladejo was held on Thursday at the NNS BEECROFT conference room, Apapa, Lagos State.

The statement also revealed that Commodore Oladejo, before his appointment, was the Commanding Officer of NNS CENTENARY, the Commanding Officer of Forward Operating Base Bonny, the Commandant of Nigerian Navy Intelligence School, Ubima and the Principal Staff Officer to the Chief of the Naval Staff.

The statement partly read, “Commodore Rafiu Taye Oladejo hails from Erin-Ile, Oyun, in Kwara State and is a member of 44 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

“Prior to his appointment as the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, he was the Commanding Officer of NNS Centenary, Commanding Officer Forward Operating Base Bonny, Commandant of Nigerian Navy Intelligence School, Ubima and Principal Staff Officer to Chief of the Naval Staff.

“Commodore Oladejo holds the following certificates: Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Certificate in Advanced Personnel/Human Resource Management from Administrative Staff College of Nigeria Badagry, Post Graduate Diploma in Security Management & Operations from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife and Master of Science in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan”.

The highlights of the ceremony included the signing of the handing and takeover notes by both Commanders and the handing and takingover of the Command Flag.

The ceremony had in attendance officers of the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft.
