Man defiles landlord’s 11-year-old daughter in Delta

A 39 year old married man, Ernest Okporu, has allegedly defiled his landlord’s 11-year-old daughter (name withheld) in Osubi community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident is said to have occurred last Saturday.

The suspect is cooling off his heels in detention at the Orerokpe Police Station.

It was learnt that the suspect asked the victim to bring his phone charger from his apartment.

Unknown to the victim, the suspect followed and grabbed her from behind as she entered the apartment, tied her hands and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

The suspect forced the girl to wash her blood stained underwear with a stern warning that if she tells anyone she will be killed.

Medical reports indicated that the victim’s hymen has been broken. The tests also revealed that there was penetration and presence of semen.

The suspect, Ernest Okporu, admitted to the crime just as he pleaded for forgiveness from the father of the little girl.

Human right activist, Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo, confirmed the report as he disclosed the information to DAILY POST.

He said, “I got a distress call from the mother of the little girl and well meaning Deltans that a minor has been raped and defiled.”

Ejumudo said the suspect will be arraigned in court before the end of the week.

He appreciated the Orerokpe Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Paul Oboware for his stance to ensure that justice is served in the matter.

The state Police command confirmed the report.
