The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has approved the creation of the Esan Enterprise Park, a 400-hectare industrial layout aimed at bolstering the state’s industrial capacity.
The Managing Director of the state Investment Promotion Office, Mr. Kelvin Uwaibi said the new park was part of an ongoing initiative to develop industrial parks and business clusters across the state.
Uwaibi said the state currently boasted of two active industrial parks, with plans for further expansion to meet investors’ interest in Edo Central and Edo North.
He stated further that efforts were underway to establish a mechanic village in Auchi, as a demonstration of the proactive approach of local government officials to attract investments.
He added: “A notable success story is the MoU signed two years ago with a development partner, which has since led to a €3 million investment in the state’s agricultural sector.
“The state is currently inviting investment proposals and seeking profiles of industrious individuals from the private sector to serve on the advisory board. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their profiles to the state government.
“This strategic move aims to harness the expertise and resources of Edo sons and daughters, as well as friends of the state, to ensure the park’s success.
“The Esan Enterprise Park stands as a testament to Governor Obaseki’s vision and expertise, offering a promising future for industrial development in Edo State”.
