Lagos State Education District II and Fajemirokun Foundation have recognised a classroom teacher Oluwaseun Adeola Tejumaiye, as an outstanding teacher in the district.
Fajemirokun Foundation is the philanthropic entity of Nigerian venture capitalist, Chief (Dr) Oladele Fajemirokun.
The recipient, an English Language teacher with Eva-Adelaja Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Bariga, made a record-breaking 100 percent result in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations for 2019, 2020 and 2021 academic sessions.
Expressing delight with Tejumaiye’s performance, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of the District, Mrs Anike Adekanye extolled her resourcefulness, hard work and dedication.
Adekanye acknowledged the consistent support from the Fajemirokun Foundation in partnering to drive the aspirations of teachers and students who desire excellence and academic success.
She said: “This recognition is a way of inspiring teachers’ creativity, resourcefulness, grit and innovations towards students’ success. The cash gift presented to our outstanding teacher is just a token of appreciation to boost the morale of Tejumaiye, Oluwaseun Adeola and other teachers.
“I appreciate Fajemirokun Foundation for working assiduously with us towards achieving the vision of the District and the state’s goals in the area of Education and Technology”.
She also appreciated the state governor. Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for committing adequate resources for staff welfare and development, just as she thanked the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo for always working hard to take the state’s education sector to an enviable height.
