The President’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Saturday, said the Nigerians should expect to reap the fruits of President Bola Tinubu’s labour over the past 17 months.

Gbajabiamila argued that a “well-rested” President Tinubu is poised to get the country to a “cruising altitude”.⁣

The Chief of Staff said this upon the President’s return to Abuja Saturday night from a two-week working leave in the United Kingdom and France. ⁣

“He’s back to continue from where he left off in terms of putting policies in place and making sure things are done right, making sure we’re going in the right direction. ⁣

“He’s the captain of the plane, and he’s working to get to a cruising level, which is precisely where we’re going. And in a matter of time, Nigerians will begin to see the fruits of his labour and our labour. ⁣

“Let’s all be expectant and hopeful, and we’ve been living the renewed hope, and Mr. President is back in Nigeria to continue the good work he’s doing”, he explained. ⁣

President Tinubu’s A330 jet arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 7:20 pm Saturday. ⁣

He was received by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other senior government officials.⁣

The President departed Abuja for the two-week leave on Wednesday, 2 October, a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed. ⁣

Onanuga said, “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja today for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.⁣

“He will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.⁣

“He will return to the country after the leave expires”, the statement said.⁣

On 11 October, President Tinubu left the UK for Paris in France for “an important engagement”, his Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, disclosed in a tweet that Friday.⁣

Gbajabiamila further explained that the President needed some rest from work. ⁣

“The kind of work he’s been doing in the last year and a half requires some rest, and he was gone, and he’s back now, and he’s well rested, rejuvenated.⁣

“It was even just a working holiday anyway, so he was working and resting at the same time. Now that he’s back in Nigeria, all hands are back on deck, and he’s ready to go”.

Also on the receiving line were the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his Chief of Staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu; the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and Ministers of Finance, Mr Wale Edun and Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu.
