APC chieftain, family shot dead in Ondo

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo Local Government of OndoState, Mr. Fisayo Oladipo and four others have been reportedly shot dead in Owo by unknown gunmen suspected to be some cult members.

It was gathered that the ugly event was said to have occurred at around 2 am on Monday when the gunmen stormed his house in Owo to perpetrate the evil act as confirmed by eyewitness.

Oladipo (popularly called Fissey Ehin Ogbe) was a youth leader and prominent member of the APC in the Local Government Area.

Four other persons, including a mother and her child were also said to have been shot on the roadside by a stray bulletin in a reprisal attack.

Police spokesperson in the state, Superintendent Funmi Odunlami confirmed the incident but could not ascertain number of casualties.

Odunlami said: “We can’t confirm if an APC chieftain is affected, but four people have been confirmed dead, Normalcy has returned through the intervention of the Police, efforts are on to arrest perpetrators of the act”.
