Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has emerged as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF). He will replace his outgoing counterpart, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.

Abdulrazaq emerged by consensus at a closed-door meeting of the governors held in Abuja Tuesday night.

Tambuwal succeeded Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who completed his two-term tenure as Ekiti State Governor last October.

On Tuesday, the Northern Governors Forum announced Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya as its new Chairman.

He will take over from outgoing Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, who was voted as the Chairman in 2019.
