Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed that he was once paid to pretend to have a physical disability as part of a staged healing miracle at a church.
Solade made the revelation during an interview with Feel Right News TV published on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The actor said the incident occurred before he became a recognised figure in Nollywood, when he was still a student and had yet to establish himself in the entertainment industry.
According to Solade, he was approached by individuals involved in the scheme and asked to act as a person with a physical disability during a purported healing session.
He agreed to participate and was paid for his role.
Recalling the incident, the veteran actor said: “I have been used for miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student.”
Solade added that the people involved in the incident are still alive but declined to reveal their identities.
“The people involved are still alive; I don’t just want to mention names,” he said.
The revelation has drawn attention to the issue of staged miracles and the exploitation of unsuspecting worshippers, with Solade’s account offering a personal insight into how such performances could allegedly be organised.
