The Adekunle Gold Foundation has pledged $20,000 to four organisations working to support people affected by sickle cell disease as part of its We’re Not Done initiative.

The funding, backed by PESA, will support Sickle Life, Not Just You, SAMI Update and ITAV Campaign, with the aim of expanding their reach and strengthening their efforts within the sickle cell community.

Announcing the initiative, Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold stressed the need for collective action to address the challenges associated with sickle cell disease, noting that more work is needed to improve the lives of those affected.

“The fight against sickle cell is bigger than any one person or foundation,” he said in a video unveiling the initiative.

The singer explained that the foundation would channel donations it receives to organisations already carrying out essential work in the community.

According to him, the four selected organisations need financial resources to extend their reach and sustain their activities, rather than relying solely on public recognition for their contributions.

Adekunle Gold also encouraged individuals and organisations willing to support the initiative to get in touch with the foundation via info@adekunlegoldfoundation.com. Donations can also be made through the foundation’s website, adekunlegoldfoundation.com.

The foundation said it intends to extend its support to more organisations in the future as part of its ongoing efforts to improve assistance for people living with sickle cell disease and others affected by the condition.
