Tacha made the suggestion during an appearance on Arise 360 on Arise News, where she said the show needed fresh concepts to remain relevant in Nigeria’s evolving entertainment landscape.
“I think they need to take a break, restrategise and just come up with something because we are really at an era where everything happens on social media,” she said.
The former housemate noted that social media has become a major source of entertainment, with online discussions and controversies increasingly competing with reality television for public attention.
Using the ongoing public interest in the family dispute involving music duo P-Square as an example, Tacha questioned why viewers would remain focused on housemates when equally engaging conversations were unfolding online.
“You don’t want us watching housemates in the house, meanwhile P-Square is giving us part seven of his family issues… we have come to a point where everyone is so comfortable with social media right now,” she said.
She argued that temporarily suspending the programme could help rebuild anticipation among viewers and give Nigerians an opportunity to miss the show before its eventual return.
“You also give Nigerians a chance to miss you,” she added.
Tacha further urged the organisers to develop a more compelling format capable of meeting the expectations of Nigerian audiences, whom she described as difficult to please.
“They need to cook, like they need to try to do something different which will be much more mind-blowing and more interesting to Nigerians because Nigerians are hard to please,” she said.
Tacha gained national prominence during the 2019 edition of BBNaija, tagged Pepper Dem, but was disqualified after a physical altercation with fellow housemate Mercy Eke.
Following her exit from the reality show, she ventured further into entertainment and fashion, worked as a radio host on 96.9 Cool FM and launched Tacha FC in 2024.
