The family of the Foremost National leader of the Afenifere Pan Yoruba Group, Pa Reuben Fasoranti has accepted to be one of the Patrons of the National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC), Ondo State.
The confirmation of the role was made by Papa’s daughter, Ms Olufunmilayo Fasoranti in Akure, when the Co-chair 1 of the NSCC Stakeholders Committee on Ageing, Mr. Ade Ayeni, paid a courtesy visit to the residence of Pa Reuben Fasoranti to deliver the letter of conferment to him.
Receiving the letter on behalf of her father, Ms Olufunmilayo commended the NSCC, which is a Federal Government establishment, for this noble gesture and honour for them.
She said that the Government and everyone should take the welfare of the senior citizens seriously.
Ms Fasoranti promised on behalf of the family that no stone will be left unturned in participating in all the programmes of the NSCC in Ondo State henceforth.
She also appealed to all the children of today to imbibe the culture of taking good care of their old parents, while alive, and shun the urge for befitting burials when they are dead.
Responding, Mr. Ade Ayeni, expressed gratitude to Pa Reuben Fasoranti and his family for identifying with the aims and objectives of the forum in the state which was put up by the NSCC in Abuja to take care of the senior citizens across Nigeria.
