Nollywood faith-based film Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed more than ₦307.2m at the box office, according to an announcement by its distributor, Nile Group.

The distributor announced the milestone in an Instagram post on Friday, thanking audiences for their support and describing the production as the highest-grossing Nollywood title ever released in October and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2026.

“Thank you, Nigeria! Agbára Nlá: The Return has grossed N307.2M+, the highest-grossing Nollywood title ever for an October release and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026,” the statement read.

Nile Group had announced an earlier milestone on 5 October, when the film recorded an opening performance of more than ₦170.6m.

“The revival is here. The power is moving. Agbara Nla: The Return opened with N170.6m+. It can only be God,” the distributor said at the time.

The company also expressed appreciation to cinema-goers for their support, citing packed cinemas and sold-out screenings.

“Thank you, everyone, for the packed cinemas, SOLD-OUT shows and incredible love,” it added.

Nile Group had described the film’s opening as the biggest non-December opening weekend for a Nollywood production, the biggest October opening weekend and the biggest opening weekend for a faith-based film.

Agbara Nla: The Return is a remake of the 1993 Christian film created by filmmaker Mike Bamiloye. The new production was directed by his sons, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua “Jay Mikee” Mike-Bamiloye.

The film returned to cinemas on 1 October 2026, more than three decades after the original production.

Its reported box office performance places it among Nigeria’s leading film releases of 2026, reflecting strong audience interest in faith-based cinema.
