The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has pledged to continue aerial intelligence surveillance in the forests of Bauchi and other threat spots in the state.

It also promised to sustain peace mission operations in the North-East, through the air components of the Joint Task Force in Maiduguri and Bauchi and other parts of the region.

This was disclosed by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar, during a visit to the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House, Bauchi.

“The Air Force headquarters has resolved to redouble aerial intelligence surveillance in the forests of Ningi, Tafawa Balewa, Toro, Alkaleri, and other threat spots in the state”, he said.

Applauding the zeal and commitment of Governor Mohammed towards working in synergy with the security operatives, the air chief said the commitment was the reason for the peace being enjoyed in Bauchi State.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Mohammed expressed the state’s readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force headquarters towards enhancing aerial defence and boundary surveillance.

The governor pledged his readiness to strengthen the partnership with the Nigerian Air Force in the discharge of its operational mandate of ensuring internal peace and stability in the state.

He added, “My administration has created a Ministry of Internal Security Affairs with a mandate of ensuring a good working relationship with all the security operatives in the state.

“The critical role of the NAF in securing the nation’s air security component and providing cover to the ground troops against internal and external enemies is long overdue”.

The governor stressed the contribution of the Air Force and sister military agencies in sustaining stability in Bauchi State and reassured his administration’s commitment to build on the institutional relationship.

He also lauded the Air Force for the quality services being rendered at his hospital.

“Thousands of people are currently benefiting from the quality services being rendered at the Air Force Hospital situated within the base”, the governor said
