Aiyedatiwa inaugurates 6 new judges in Ondo State

In a ceremony held on 3 October, 2024, at the Cocoa Conference Hall in Akure, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, officially inaugurated six newly appointed judges of the state’s High Court. The new judges are Justices Adebisi Daomi, Adeola Adegoroye, Justinah Kpemi, Happiness Demehin-Ogunbayo, Wumi Fabuluje, and Idowu Ogunwumiju.

During his address, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that this was the second large-scale judicial appointment of his administration, highlighting the critical role these judges will play in improving the state’s judicial system. He commended their expertise and commitment to justice, stressing the importance of diligence and integrity in the judicial process. This new addition to the state’s judiciary is expected to reduce the heavy workload faced by existing judges and enhance the efficiency of the courts.

The governor also acknowledged the efforts of the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Segun Aiyedun Odusola, and thanked the National Judicial Council and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, for facilitating the appointments. The new judges pledged to uphold the high standards expected of them and to serve with dedication and integrity
