Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredoku returned to the country this afternoon, according to Nigerian Tribune.
The newspaper learnt that the airline conveying the governor, who has been on medical vacation in Germany for three months, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 3:20 pm
He was said to have been flown in in a private jet with United Aviation flight number N728LB.
A source said that, although the governor landed in Abuja, he would immediately be flown to Ibadan Airport.
Another source said: “Immigration officials will only stamp his passport in Abuja since he is just coming into the country.
“He will then be immediately flown to Ibadan Airport, possibly for onward movement, or maybe he will spend the remaining days of his extended medical leave in his Ibadan home.
“This much is clear since he will not be flying to Akure where there is local airport. He will possibly stay in Ibadan”.
Akeredolu was flown out of the country to Germany on 31st May to get medical attention.
Following rumours of his deteriorating health, pictures and videos of the governor repeatedly circulated on social media to dispel rumours of his death.
While recuperating, he had written to the state House of Assembly to seek an extension of his medical leave.
His deputy, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa has been acting in his stead for over three months.
