Al-Bishak releases book on Black Africa’s origin

A Professor of African Literature, Al-Bishak has authored another book. The latest work of the lecturer with the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Black Papyrus: Global Origins of Writing and Written Literature Traced to Black Africa“, was presented to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman in Lafia last Tuesday.

According to the author, it is a 50-year researched book, sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.

He said that copies would be “sent to all African countries through the Pan-African Writers Association to spread the word about the ingenious status of the black African as the pioneer of writing, written literature and formal education in the world”.

A Member of the Order of the Niger, Al-Bishak is not only an academic, he came into national consciousness as a journalist, newspaper columnist and notable editorial consultant, working with The Guardian, Daily Times and New Nigerian, among other news publications.

A quintessential critic and talented creative writer, he made his marks in the academic community and was appointed a Professor of African Literature with speciality in Literary Egyptology by the Federal University of Lafia three years ago.

His creative and scholarly worksworks include a literary theory, Leoparditude.
