Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan has confirmed her participation in the upcoming Adidas Atlanta City Games, set to take place on 17 May at Piedmont Park.
The current world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles announced her entry via social media, expressing enthusiasm about competing alongside other elite athletes.
‘Next Up: Adidas Atlanta City Games. I’ll be competing in the Women’s 100m Hurdles along with other amazing athletes from all over the world’. She encouraged fans to attend the event in person, highlighting that it offers free and open-to-the-public spectating.
The Adidas Atlanta City Games is designed as a day-long track and field festival, inviting fans to experience the sport up close. With a dedicated fan zone, meet-and-greets with elite athletes, exclusive Adidas gear at Atlanta Track Club’s merchandise tents, and a festival atmosphere featuring food trucks, the event brings the sport’s biggest stars out of the stadium and into the heart of Atlanta.
It will be broadcast live on NBC from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Nigerian time on Saturday, 17 May, for the global audience to witness the action in a range of track and field competitions, including men’s and women’s sprints, hurdles, middle-distance races, pole vault, and long jump.
Amusan’s participation follows her consecutive performances at the Diamond League, where she clocked 12.66s in Keqiao and 12.74s in Xiamen, finishing fourth in both events she used to kickstart her outdoor season.
