A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has reportedly died of apparent heart attack while watching Wednesday night’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinal between Nigeria and South Africa.
He was said to have slumped and died after South Africa was awarded a late penalty as Nigeria led by a lone goal in the tension-soaked encounter in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire.
The match later went into penalty shootouts following a stalemate after regulation and extra times of 120 minutes, with Nigeria eventually winning 4-2.

Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, Medical Doctor and Former MP has passed away during the Nigeria vs South Africa match.
The sad incident happened when the penalty was awarded against Nigeria. Dr Ojougboh was said to have shouted and slumped due to massive heart attack when SA scored.
Dr Cairo Ojougboh from Delta state represented Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives 2003-2007.
