APC releases Assembly bye-elections timetable, pegs Senate form at N20m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the timetable and schedule of activities for the 3rd February 3rd bye-elections, following the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the National and State Assembly bye-elections.

The timetable was posted on the party’s X account on Monday and signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

The sale of nominations, expressions of Interest, and delegate forms will begin on Wednesday, 27th December 27th 2023 and run till 2nd January 2024.

The last day for submission of completed expressions of interest, nomination forms, and delegates nomination forms with accompanying documents is Wednesday, 3rd January 2024.

According to the timetable, the primary elections will be held on Saturday, 6th January 2024, while the election day is Saturday, 3rd February 2024.

The total price for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly is N20 million, N10 million, and N2 million respectively.

The statement noted: “Female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities are to purchase the Expression of Interest Form while the Nomination Form is free”.

It also stated that youths between the ages of 25 and 40 are to purchase the Expression of Interest Form with a 50 per cent discount on the Nomination Form.

“Expression of Interest Form and Nomination Form will be available for purchase at the Directorate of Organisation, 2nd Floor, APC National Headquarters, Wuse II, Abuja”, the statement read.
