The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said, ahead of the 8 November governorship election in Anambra State, interested aspirants vying for the primary would pay N30 million to procure the nomination and expression of interest forms.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the National Organising Secretary of APGA, Ifeanyi Mbaeri, in Abuja on Thursday.

The APGA scribe also released the primary election timetable containing the activities and dates of the exercise.

Among other things, he stated the party’s special state congress and governorship primary election has been slated to be held on 5 April.

The party also approved the sale of the nomination form to female aspirants and physically challenged persons at a discounted rate of five per cent.

According to Mbaeri, the sale of forms will start on Friday, 28 February.

He, however, gave a caveat that the leadership of the party reserves the right to adjust the dates and schedules of activities if the need arises.

He said, ‘In pursuant to its powers under Articles 12 (2) & (3)(b) and 24 of the APGA Constitution 2019 and in compliance with INEC schedule of activities for Anambra State Governorship Election, the National Executive Committee of APGA through its National Working Committee has approved a provisional timetable for the governorship primary election.

‘The party’s sale of expression of interest and nomination form is to begin on Friday, February 28 and end on March 20, while screening of aspirants will be held on March 28 at the APGA National Headquarters in Abuja.’
