Appeal Court sacks Elumelu, declares LP’s Okolie winner

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, has set aside the judgement of the National and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, and affirmed the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Ngozi Okolie, as the duly elected lawmaker for Aniocha and Oshimili Federal constituency.

In 25th February election, Okolie polled 53,879 votes to defeat the incumbent minority leader, Hon. Ndidu Elumelu of the Peoples Democratic Party who pulled 33,456, while Tony Nwaake of the All Progressives Congress had 11, 712 votes

However, in July, the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Asaba, Delta State, declared Elumelu as the winner of the election for the constituency.
