Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard has been sidelined with an ankle injury, with reports ruling him out till December.
Odegaard sustained the injury while on international duty with Norway during the last international break.
The injury was reported to be a speedy recovery for him but further assessment revealed he will be out for longer.
The 25-year-old will now undergo rehabilitation, ruling him out until the second half of the season.
Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta spoke on his injury ahead of their Champions League opener against Atalanta:
“After recent scans the scans showed that he’s got some damage especially on one of the ligaments in the ankle.
“It’s something quite significant so we’re going to lose him for a while hopefully not months but let’s see.
The Gunners currently have no cover for the midfielder with summer signing, Mikel Merino still on his way to recovery.
Declan Rice would however return from suspension to give the Gunners a chance against Premier League champions, Manchester City on Sunday.
