The embattled Chairman of the disbanded Park Management System (PMS) in Oyo State, Mukaila Lamidi (popularly known as Auxiliary) has bowed to the will of Governor Seyi Makinde.
From his hideout on Saturday, Auxiliary said he is committed to the peace of the state.
Police had raided his residence in Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday morning and said they found guns and other dangerous weapons.
Seventy eight suspected hoodlums were also reportedly arrested at one of his hideouts on Friday.
Following this raid, the Police Command declared him wanted for alleged gun-running, armed robbery, kidnapping, among other criminal offences.
On a live radio programme on Saturday, Auxillary said that he would abide by the decisions taken by the governor on transport unions.
He denied reports that he ordered his boys to unleash violence a few days ago in Ibadan.
On allegation of gunrunning, Auxiliary said: “When I’m not a fool, how could I have hidden or stockpiled those weapons at my residence”?
He also warned his boys not to foment trouble or engage in any act of violence in Ibadan and other parts of the state.
“No individual, no matter how highly influential he or she is, is bigger than government,” Auxiliary stated.
He reiterated his commitment to comply and cooperate with the reform and integration process of other driver unions into the PMS.
He said “If the new reform doesn’t favour me, I will accept the outcome”.
