Bayo Onanuga named Special Adviser, as FERMA board is constituted

Former spokesman of presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Bayo Onanuga is now Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

A renowned media professional, Onanuga was named on Friday into the Ministerial Coordination and Strategy team of the Presidency along with Ms. Delu Bulus Yakubu (Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation).

In a statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale explained that the appointments were “part of efforts to prioritise effective and efficient working synergy between the Presidency and Federal Ministries”.

He described Onanuga and Yakubu as having “prior working experience within the architecture of the federal ministries they will be coordinating with, in addition to duties that will be carried out at the President’s discretion”.

President Bola Tinubu also constituted the governing board and management for the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA). The appointees have “a renewable term of four (4) years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007”, Ngelale further said.

Other members of the board are: Yusuf Lawal Othman (representing the National Association Of Road Transport Owners), Engr. Ibi Terna Manasseh (Federal Ministry of Works), Assistant Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed (Federal Road Safety Commission), Babatunde Daramola-Oniru (Federal Ministry of Finance), Hon. Preye Oseke (South-South), Hon. Oye Ojobe (South-West), Dr. Kenneth Ugbala (South-East), Senator Timothy Adudu (North-Central), Engr. Abubakar Bappa (North-East), Aminu Adamu Papa (North-West).

Ngelale said: “President Tinubu expects the new appointees to achieve integrous and competent service delivery, given the central role that the institution will play in the sustainable health of growth-enabling infrastructure nationwide”.
