BBNaija announces date for 2026 edition, set N160m as grand prize

The organisers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) have announced that the 2026 edition of the reality television show will premiere on Sunday, 26 July, with a record-breaking grand prize of ₦160 million up for grabs.

The announcement was made during a press briefing on Wednesday, where the organisers unveiled details for the highly anticipated 11th season of the popular reality show.

The ₦160 million prize is the highest grand prize in the history of BBNaija since the show debuted in 2006, marking a significant increase from previous editions.

Ahead of the new season, the organisers conducted physical auditions in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu between 22 and 24 May 2026 to select contestants for the programme.

Participation in the auditions was free and open to Nigerians aged 21 and above who possessed valid means of identification.

Over the years, Big Brother Naija has grown into one of Africa’s biggest entertainment programmes, producing several celebrities and attracting millions of viewers across the continent.

With the promise of a record prize and fresh twists, anticipation is already building among fans as the countdown begins for the Season 11 premiere on 26 July.
