The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially launched the bidding process for the 2028, 2032 and 2036 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), inviting its 54 Member Associations to compete for the hosting rights.

CAF announced the development in a statement published on its official website, signalling the start of the selection process for the continent’s premier football tournament over the next decade.

According to the governing body, all 54 Member Associations are eligible to submit bids to host any of the three AFCON editions, with the aim of identifying countries capable of staging tournaments that meet its technical, commercial and operational requirements.

CAF said the bidding framework was developed with the support of independent advisory firm PwC, alongside the organisation’s technical, financial and external legal advisers.

The football body added that the framework has been designed to ensure a transparent, fair and competitive selection process as it evaluates prospective hosts for the 2028, 2032 and 2036 tournaments.
