The traditional ruler of Modakeke, Osun State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola has enjoined Nigerians to celebrate this year’s Easter festivity peacefully and with love and moderation.

In an Easter statement issued by the chairman of the Media Committee of the Palace, Chief Adedayo Ojo, Oba Toriola, who is the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Ajibise Ogo 1, said it was imperative for Nigerians to be Christ-like in their deed, actions and interaction, noting that Jesus Christ died peacefully despite the fact that he was despised, violently beaten and punished.

The lessons of Easter, Ogunsua said, are captured in Christ’s forgiveness of his traducers.

Oba Toriola reiterated that anyone who is Christ-like would radiate love, the fabric of peace and tranquility.

The monarch enjoined all Nigerians to exhibit discipline and selflessness in whatever they do. According to him, for society to grow and in order to attract and sustain development, an atmosphere of peace is a critical ingredient.

Oba Toriola counseled that what should preoccupy the mind of Nigerians is how to make our society better than the way it is. He charged Nigerians to be positive change agents of the society.

The Kabiyesi, who celebrated his birthday anniversary earlier in the week, stated that he had entered into a convenant with God to deploy all his strength, network and God-given resources to the development and improvement of mankind.

Oba Toriola was appreciative of the extension of a hand of fellowship to him by friends, well-wishers, palace chiefs, stakeholders in the community by way of greetings, prayers and presentation of gifts during his last birthday anniversary.

He also charged the youths in the community to always live and operate within the ambit of the law.

Oba Toriola implored the youths in the community to be focused and visionary in their pursuit and shun brigandage in any form or manner.

He also enjoined the privileged members of the community to remember the less privileged during Easter.

The monarch prayed for his chiefs and the community asking the almighty God to grant us peace and harmony in Nigeria and the world.
