No fewer than 22 people have been killed with three others seriously injured following a fire incident at a restaurant in northern China.
The incident, according to ABC News occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
The blaze broke out at around 12:25 pm local time in the city of Liaoning, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency and national broadcaster CCTV.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has, according to local news, urged all-out efforts to treat the injured persons.
He also called for assistance for victims’ families, urging an investigation into the root cause of the fire.
Investigators have not yet discovered the cause of the fire but according to the Associated Press, images from the scene showed huge flames spurting from the windows and doors of the two- or three-story building.
