Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, over his comments on the suspension of the union’s activities in Osun State.
The controversy followed Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s decision to suspend NURTW operations across motor parks in the state following violent clashes between rival factions.
The governor also halted the collection of levies and directed security agencies to arrest anyone operating in the name of the union.
Reacting to the development, MC Oluomo, who was represented by his deputy, Aliyu Issa Ore, during an inauguration ceremony, rejected the governor’s decision.
He reportedly argued that the state government lacked the authority to suspend the activities of the union.
“Today, we heard that the state governor in Osun suspended the activities of our union, which they don’t have that power. Not a single state governor has power to suspend the activities of the union, because we are not under any state,” he said.
Davido, who is a nephew of Governor Adeleke, subsequently reacted to MC Oluomo’s remarks in a post on social media.
Mocking the NURTW chairman over his statement, the singer wrote: “MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk.. Kudosuuuu.”
