Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has won Album of the Year at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) for his latest album, 5IVE.
AFRIMMA announced the award on Tuesday in a post on its official Instagram account.
The 2026 AFRIMMA awards and music festival were held on 12 September at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas.
Davido went into the ceremony as the most-nominated artiste, securing five nominations across several major categories.
His album 5IVE won the Album of the Year category, beating projects including Black Sherif’s Top of The Morning Era, Omah Lay’s Clarity of Mind, Asake’s M$NEY, Tyla’s A-Pop and Burna Boy’s No Sign of Weakness.
Other albums nominated in the category were Lloyiso’s Never Thought I Could, Leigh-Anne’s My Ego Told Me To and Himra’s SORRY I’M BAD.
Davido also received nominations for Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa and the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award.
This year’s AFRIMMA nominations highlighted the breadth of contemporary African music, with artistes from West Africa, South Africa, the United Kingdom and other parts of the diaspora represented across the major categories.
