Manchester United legend, Dwight Yorke has warned the Red Devils against signing former Arsenal striker Donyell Malen.

Yorke insisted that it would be a waste of money if Manchester United should engage in a swap deal with Borussia Dortmund involving Jadon Sancho and Malen.

According to him, Malen, who currently plays for Dortmund, would not improve Erik ten Hag’s side.

Recall that Sancho, who hasn’t featured for United since August, appears destined to leave the English Premier League club in January, either on loan or permanently.

United are looking at alternatives and a swap deal involving Malen and Sancho has been mooted.

“I have not seen much of Donyell Malen, but I know he’s scored a few goals in the Bundesliga. I have not seen enough of him to make a judgment on him, but he seems to be an alright player”, Yorke told Instant Casino.

“United can’t waste money signing players who won’t improve the squad. I’m an aspiring coach, and that is the first thing I take into consideration before I sign anyone.

“If this player doesn’t raise the level of the position he’s playing in, then the team will continue on the same path.”

He added, “United need to sign players who will be comfortable with the pressure of the club and who will help them win football matches”.
