Ebonyi State Governor, Mr. Francis Nwifuru has terminated the appointment of political officeholders hired by his predecessor, Engr. David Umahi.
According to a statement on Saturday night by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, Nwifuru terminated the appointments ‘with immediate effect.’
“The affected appointees are to hand over all government properties in their possession to the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries, departments and agencies,” Uzor said.
He said that the governor appreciated their contributions to the development of the state and wished them well in their future endeavours
The statement further stated that Permanent Secretaries and political office holders in the statutory commissions are, however, exempt from this directive.
These include the Civil Service Commission and the Judicial Service Commission. Others are the state Independent Electoral Commission and the state Anti-Corruption/Public Complaint Commission.
