Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the administration of justice through technology-driven reforms following the launch of a digital case management system for the state’s High Court.
Oyebanji, represented by the Acting Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Gbemiga Adaramola (SAN), spoke at the official launch of the Nigeria Case Management System (NCMS) in Ado Ekiti on Sunday.
According to a statement made available in the state capital, the NCMS is a centralised digital repository and electronic filing platform introduced by the Supreme Court of Nigeria to track, manage and process civil and criminal proceedings electronically.
The governor described the introduction of the platform as a significant milestone in the state’s judicial administration, saying it represented more than the deployment of software and marked a shift towards a more efficient, technology-driven justice system.
“Onboarding the state High Court onto the digital platform will address the bottlenecks associated with manual court processes and improve justice delivery,” he said.
Oyebanji added that an efficient and predictable judicial system was essential to economic growth, social stability and investor confidence.
“When our administration outlined our multi-pillar agenda for shared prosperity, we recognised that a stable, predictable and highly efficient judicial system is the bedrock of economic growth, social peace and investor confidence,” he said.
He noted that integrating the state’s court operations into the nationwide digital platform demonstrated the government’s commitment to innovation and good governance.
The governor commended the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, and the judiciary’s leadership for their commitment to judicial reforms and the modernisation of court operations.
He said adopting the case management system alongside electronic filing would reduce bureaucratic delays and promote faster, more predictable judicial processes for lawyers and litigants.
The initiative is expected to improve the management of court records and proceedings while making judicial services more accessible and efficient.
