Ekiti school old students set to celebrate 50yrs of their alma mater in grand Style

Old and current students of Babatope Memorial High School, Ikoro – Ekiti in Eso Obe LCDA of Ekiti State are set to commemorate the fifty years existence of the school.

According to the National President of the Old Students Association, Pastor Kayode Adeosun this is “to celebrate the institution’s fifty years of service to God and mankind in accordance with its motto which forms the principle that established the school”

In his words: “Babatope Memorial High School has in the last five decades established itself as a beacon of knowledge and a nurturing environment for students to grow and thrive.
The school has remained committed to its mission of fostering academic excellence, character development, and community service”.

This, he further pointed out, “is evident in the lives of the products of the school in their large numbers who have continued to make enviable impacts in many areas of human endeavours”.

Highlights of programmes lined up by the Old Students Association to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of the school, scheduled to take place between *Tuesday, 22nd October and Sunday, 27th October, 2024* according to Pastor Adeosun, include the following: Rally by the Students, Quiz Competition, Career Talk, Juma’at Service, Novelty Match, Tree Planting (Green Legacy Initiative), Commissioning of Laboratory Block, Presentation/ Launching of Anniversary Magazine, Award Presentation and Church Service.

In addition, it is expected that the celebration will provide an enduring opportunity for reconnecting with old friends and schoolmates, networking, a sense of community, reflections on the past and a platform for fun and entertainment.

Babatope Memorial High School, an initiative of the Good Women Association of The Apostolic Church of the then Ilesha area, was founded on 26th October, 1974 and named after Apostle J. A Babatope who was the first African Superintendent of the Church in Ilesa, present day Osun State and one of the founding fathers of the Church in Nigeria.
