Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has publicly apologised to her colleague and former associate, Laide Bakare, following the backlash over her reaction during a recent interview.
Badmus issued the apology on Tuesday after facing criticism on social media over her response when Bakare’s name was mentioned on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast.
The actress, who has reportedly been at odds with Bakare, addressed the controversy in a series of posts on her Instagram page, acknowledging that her reaction could have been perceived as dismissive.
“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise,” she wrote.
Badmus also called for peace between them, expressing her willingness to put their differences aside and wishing her colleague well.
“Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well. Joo maa binu (please don’t be offended). No negativity. No grudges. Let love lead and peace reigns,” she added.
The apology followed criticism from social media users who expressed displeasure over her reaction during the interview.
Her statement has brought renewed attention to the relationship between the two actresses, with Badmus signalling a desire to move past their differences and promote reconciliation.
