Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi scored the decisive goal as Fulham defeated Hull City 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday to record their first Premier League victory of the season.
The Nigerian international struck in the 33rd minute, giving the hosts the lead after a sustained spell of pressure. His goal proved enough to secure all three points for Fulham.
The victory ended Fulham’s winless start to the league campaign after their opening six matches and provided relief for the club following a difficult run of results.
The Cottagers had faced mounting pressure to improve their performances, with Saturday’s result offering a boost to their hopes of climbing the Premier League table.
Despite creating several opportunities to extend their advantage, Fulham were unable to add to Iwobi’s goal. They nevertheless held on to secure the win, although Ryan Sessegnon was sent off in stoppage time.
Iwobi’s contribution proved crucial as Fulham claimed their first league win of the campaign.
Fulham will next travel to face Coventry City on Saturday, 24 October, as they seek to build on the victory and improve their position in the league standings.
