Ezekwesili hosts Penpushing Media’s editorial board in Abuja

The former Vice President of the World Bank, African Region, Dr Oby Ezekwesili on Thursday hosted editorial board of Penpushing Media, at her private residence located in Asokoro, Abuja, Federal Capital (FCT).

The team led by the board chairman, Olufunke Fadugba, arrived at the home of their host at 7 am and joyfully welcomed by Ezekwesili, who later led them into the palatial residence.

The host, who is the founder of Human Capital Africa after ushering the team into the sitting room, thereafter, introduced them to her husband, Pastor Ezekwezili, who in equal measure extended warm welcome to the board members.

The host and guests, after exchanging banters for some minutes, later moved to the dining room for breakfast together, as the Ezekwesilis expressed delight on the visit.

The Chairman Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, in her speech explained that the visit was aimed to further expressed appreciation of entire management of the media outlet for the major role she played as keynote speaker at its recently concluded 7th anniversary lecture held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Fadugba pointed out that the presence of Ezekwesili at the anniversary lecture added value to Penpushing media, hence, the editorial board and management will forever remain grateful to her

The board chairman, however, called for continued support for Penpushing Media, assuring that the integrity the media outlet has secured for itself will not be toy with, emphasizing that the organization will continue to be forthright in the journalism profession.

Ezekwesili in her remarks appreciated the guests for the visit, stressing that it further confirmed the integrity of the organization in appreciating good contributions, just as she equally assured the management of providing them link for support designed to promote independent media across Africa.

The former Minister of Education affirmed that Penpushing Media came to digital journalism at the right time, and positively acknowledged the way and manner the organization is being run by the team, expressing optimism of more achievement ahead.

She advised the team to leverage on partnership, stressing that it is an avenue to uplift the establishment at all times, adding that the eco system of partnership will take Penpushing Media to another level

The Senior Economic Adviser, Africa Economic Development Policy Initiative (AEDPI) pointed out that the management of the organization should be alive to the reality that there were global resources to strengthen journalism, hence, the need to engage the younger ones in its operations

Ezekwesili emphasized and told the team, which equally include Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder Penpushing Media), Yemisi Fadairo, and Gbenga Onayiga that partnership is a currency, adding that another resource is knowledge which members of Penpushing Media have in abundance.
