Fintini hails bond with Kefas, calls for more synergy at Taraba House of Assembly commissioning

The Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on Wednesday, hailed his Taraba State counterpart, Governor Agbu Kefas, for turning development into a tradition in Taraba State.

Fintiri made the remark while inaugurating the remodelled Taraba State House of Assembly complex in Jalingo.

Speaking at the event, Fintiri emphasised the enduring bond between Taraba and Adamawa states, describing their relationship as one with an umbilical cord that can not be broken despite the separation for administrative convenience.

He commended Kefas for providing the state lawmakers with a befitting edifice, underscoring its significance in fostering a harmonious working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.

“Democracy goes beyond elections. It must be nurtured at all times. The three arms of government are tied to organic functions for development to thrive”, Fintiri stated.

He called for the continued synergy among the arms of government to ensure the success of democracy.

The Adamawa governor congratulated the Speaker, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, and the members of the Assembly for the revamped complex.

He also praised the people of Taraba for their good fortune in having a governor like Kefas, whose leadership is characterised by commitment to progress and innovation.

Earlier, the Speaker, John Bonzena, had expressed gratitude to Governor Kefas for prioritising the legislature, describing the remodelled Assembly as a milestone in governance.

He praised the governor’s broader developmental initiatives across the state and appealed for continued support from the executive to enhance service delivery by lawmakers.

Arewa PUNCH reports that the inauguration of the remodelled Assembly complex marks another chapter in Governor Kefas’s agenda to promote institutional growth and strengthen democratic governance in Taraba State.
