Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, wife of the late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has arrived in Vienna to officially begin her assignment as Nigeria’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Austria and the international organisations based in the Austrian capital.
Ajimobi announced her arrival in a post on her Facebook page on Friday, revealing that she was received at the VIP Wing of Vienna International Airport by the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Nigerian Embassy and Permanent Mission, Mr. Muyiwa Onifade.
According to her, the reception was attended by officials of the mission, including home-based officers and local staff, as well as leaders of the Nigerian community in Austria.
She said representatives of several Nigerian organisations, including the Oduduwa Group, the Igbo Cultural Group, the Nigeria-Austria Friendship Group, the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), and the Nigerian Students in Austria, were also present to welcome her.
Expressing appreciation for the reception, Ajimobi thanked members of the diplomatic mission and the Nigerian community for the warm welcome.
She also pledged to work towards strengthening diplomatic relations and deepening cooperation between Nigeria and Austria during her tenure as ambassador.
