Fubara to swear in 5 commissioners today

Rivers State Governor,Siminalayi Fubara will, today, swear in five commissioners-designate who were recently screened and confirmed by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Earlier, four of the commissioners were rejected by the House following some irregularities. However, residents have urged the governor to resend the nominees’ names to the Assembly.

Meanwhile, the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Rivers State Government House, in Port Harcourt, by 01:00 p.m.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dagogo S. A. Wokoma, said the commissioners-designate include Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Lekue Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.

The SSG added that the commissioners-designate, along with one guest each, are expected to be seated at the venue by 12:30 p.m. ahead of the ceremony.

The swearing-in is expected to further strengthen the state’s executive council as the administration continues to drive governance and service delivery across the state.
