Barely four days to Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State, a Non-Governmental Grassroots Movement for the re-election of Diri/Law has embarked on a massive door-to-door grassroots campaign across the creeks of the state for the emergence of the incumbent Governor, Senator Douye Diri, at the polls.

The group, led by the Coordinator of Bayelsa Central, Abel Ebifemowei; and Coordinator Bayelsa East, Hon. Ebi Ben Okolo, while criss-crossing the riverine wards and units of Peretorugbene on Tuesday, distributed souvenirs such as umbrellas, aprons, T-shirts and faze caps to prospective voter as they woo them to troop out to cast their votes, come Saturday.

The group described Diri as “the Miracle Governor who has impacted positively on Bayelsa since his assumption of office”, noting that giving Diri the opportunity of a second tenure would guarantee the masses of unassailable developmental projects.

According to the group, “the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has delivered on its campaign promises and also has the experience and knowledge required to lead Bayelsans into a brighter future”.

Also, a delegation of the group comprising the Coordinator for Bayelsa West, Hon. Alex Jenakumo; and his deputy, Hon. Charity Kens Godwin, at another grassroots engagement engagement, maintained that “voting for Diri/Law, will mean a sure ticket for better living”.

The group appealed to the electorate to come out enmasse to exercise their civic responsibility on Saturday.

The Deputy Co-ordinator for Bayelsa East, Hon George Turner; and Deputy Coordinator for Bayelsa Central, Chief Natus Zebakame remarked that “Governor Diri’s first tenure should be seen by Bayelsans as one good turn that truly deserves another come Saturday 11th November, 2023”.

The group remarked that Diri is the only option that can genuinely guarantee continuity of prosperity for Bayelsans and continue with the people-oriented mass development.
