Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has revealed that he intends to conduct a DNA test before accepting any child born to him as his own.

The singer disclosed this during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, where he said he had already informed his girlfriend of his plans to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage and conduct a DNA test whenever she gives birth.

According to Mayorkun, his girlfriend was unhappy with the proposal, but he maintained that he would proceed with his plans regardless.

“I told my girlfriend we’d have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset.

“I have thought of doing the DNA test without telling her. If it is my child, no issues. If not, everybody will hear about it,” he said.

DNA testing has become an increasingly discussed issue in Nigeria amid concerns over alleged cases of paternity fraud, with some experts advocating testing as a means of establishing biological paternity.

Several Nigerian celebrities have also urged men to consider DNA testing to confirm the paternity of their children before taking on parental responsibilities.
