Contrary to a video circulating online alleging that the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)., Dr. Asue Ighodalo had left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO) has affirmed  that lawyer remains a member of the party.

In a statement on Monday by a member of TAMO, Mr. Erhabor Emokpae, the group described the claim in the viral video as ‘false’.

It said: ‘Dr. Ighodalo remains a member of the PDP. We urge the public to disregard this baseless fabrication and the mischief behind it, which is aimed at misleading our supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.

‘Dr. Ighodalo remains focused on his vision for a prosperous and safe Edo, and on strengthening the PDP as a platform that truly protects the interests of the people’.

In recent times, the political landscape has witnessed the migration of political leaders and their members. A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar moved from the PDP and now associates with the African Democratic Congress, which also has as Interim Chairman a former Senate President, Brig. General David Mark (rtd).

Earlier, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the PDP structure in the state had moved to the ruling All Progressives Congress, the same move made by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno shortly after.
