I’ll not take my appointment as LAUTECH Chancellor for granted – Emohua monarch

Newly appointed Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, His Royal Majesty Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse has described his appointment by the Visitor and Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde as one that would never be taken for granted.

Receiving a delegation of the university, led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Ayodeji Omole at his Emohua palace in Rivers State on Saturday, the traditional ruler extolled LAUTECH’s leadership for finding time to felicitate and physically briefing him.

He promised to bring about all resources at his arsenal to ensure that the recorded successes of the institution are further enhanced.

He said that his people and others Rivers State are happy about the appointment for which they would continue to be grateful.

Earlier, the team leader, Omole thanked the traditional ruler for accepting to join the institution as Chancellor and prayed that God would grant him the wherewithal to lead the university to the desired destination.

He also briefed their host on the forthcoming convocation ceremonies, during which the Chancellor’s investiture would feature on Friday 28th April.

Other dignitaries at the meeting included the Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke; and acting Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port-Harcourt, Prof. Okey Onuchukwu.

The LAUTECH team included the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council and Senate; Dr. Kayode Ogunleye; Bursar, Mr. Abayomi Okediji; Deputy Registrar (Council Affairs and Legal Matters), Barrister Adebayo Adeyi; and Deputy Registrar (Public and Alumni Relations), Olalekan Fadeyi.
