The Kano State government, on Wednesday, confirmed investing N3 billion to enhance classroom infrastructure development across the 44 local government areas of the state.

Governor Abba Yusuf, who stated this on Tuesday at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House, Kano, said the project was to create a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning for citizens.

Yusuf said not less than 17,000 security personnel would be employed across the state to ensure the safety of primary school facilities, with 400 personnel per local government.

“The local security personnel will be employed from within the locality of the primary schools, to ensure effective service delivery”, he said.

Similarly, he said each of the local government councils would receive N25 million for renovation, while the Universal Basic Education Board would supervise the project, to ensure quality control.

“This investment demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving education infrastructure, as well as to provide a better learning experience for students“, he said.
