Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who recently accented to an executive bill mandating the state to have at least 35 percent female appointees in the state executive council and other political appointments, has appointed 16 women — one per local government — as Special Assistants on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Governor charged the appointees with the duties of supporting and promoting the administration’s efforts to achieve its goals.
Apart from also appointing nine female commissioners and 12 female permanent secretaries at the inception of his administration, AbdulRazaq also given opportunities to women to man key institutions like the state Internal Revenue Service.
The SDGs appointees include Usman Bilikis, Monsurat Lawal, Khadijat Ibrahim, Jibola Yusuf, Abdulmumin Kane Habibat, Aishat Motunrayo Yusuf, Deborah Lawal, Kafayat Kazeem and Titilayo Ashaolu.
Others are Oluwakemi Opeyemi Afolashade, Sani Kudirat, Esther Funlola Adejumo, Amudat Muhammad, Fatima Mohammed, Kashi Mohammed and Dorcas Toyin Ogunwole.
