The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has unveiled the committees and award framework for the 10th edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA) 2025

At a well-attended media conference held at the chapter’s secretariat in Ilupeju, the Chairman, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu described LaPRIGA as the ‘gold standard’ for recognising excellence in public relations and communication practice in Nigeria.

He announced that the milestone 10th edition will be celebrated under the theme Nox Excellentia (The Night of Excellence), signifying a luminous celebration of brilliance, creativity and integrity in the profession.

‘Over the past decade, LaPRIGA has grown beyond an award ceremony; it has evolved into a movement that celebrates innovation, professionalism and the enduring impact of strategic communication’, Ayetutu stated.

He emphasised that LaPRIGA 2025 will honour professionals and organisations whose works have made measurable impact on brands, communities and the nation at large.

The event, scheduled for Friday, 12 December 2025, at the MUSON Centre, Lagos, will align with the chapter’s New Lagos Agenda — a vision focused on professional excellence, innovation, capacity development, collaboration and public impact.

Ayetutu also announced that a respected industry thought leader, Mr. Chido Nwakanma chairs the Selection Committee, while a seasoned PR professional, Mrs. Tokunbo George-Taylor leads the Planning Committee. Both committee leaders and their members were selected for their proven track records and deep commitment to excellence, the Chairman further said.

Nwakanma revealed that the LaPRIGA Awards Panel has introduced a refined framework that consolidates award categories from 22 to 18, to maintain focus, transparency and prestige.

The categories, he explained, reflect evolving industry trends such as technology integration, sustainability communication and data-driven storytelling.

‘The redefined framework ensures that LaPRIGA continues to recognise the best of creativity, ethics and measurable impact within our profession’, Nwakanma noted.

The new structure includes notable categories such as PR Agency of the Year, Corporate Communication Professional of the Year, Excellence in Crisis and Issues Management, Best Use of Technology in PR and Model Agency of the Year, among others.

He added that the judging process would adopt a rigorous 100-point evaluation system assessing entries based on Strategy, Creativity, Execution and Impact.

Representing the Planning Committee Chair, Mr. Tope Akande, who serves as the committee secretary, reaffirmed the team’s commitment to delivering a memorable and well-executed edition of LaPRIGA 2025.

The chapter’s Vice Chair, Mrs. Eniola Mayowa expressed appreciation to the media for their consistent partnership and urged practitioners to amplify awareness of this landmark edition across various platforms.

LaPRIGA 2025 marks a decade of celebrating the unsung heroes of Nigeria’s communication industry – the bridge builders, image makers and reputation managers who shape narratives and drive positive social change.

Lagos NIPR reaffirmed its commitment to promoting excellence, ethics and innovation in the public relations profession, positioning Lagos as a beacon of leadership and creativity in communication practice across Africa.
