The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has added more feats to its feathers as it bagged another award — the Outstanding Agency of the Year — at the just concluded 2022 Press Week.
The Lagos Television chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists recognised LASEMA’s “invaluable contributions to humanity through its dynamic style of service to Lagos State and other neighbouring states” with the “Outstanding Agency of the Year Award” at the Combo Hall of Lagos Television last Friday, as part of activities marking this year’s Press Week.
While receiving the award on behalf of the agency, LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu appreciated the organisers of the programme for deeming it fit to honour the agency with the award.
He said that the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration has provided the political will for the agency to fulfil its responsibility of managing emergencies and disasters, thereby improving on the “GOLDEN HOUR” (the hour between life and death).
Oke-Osanyintolu said that LASEMA would continue to deliver on its mandate, and assured the people of the state that the safety of their lives and property is paramount to the present administration.
