Logistics, Transport Institutite holds national conference on sustainable innovation

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Nigeria (CILT-N) is set for its 2022 National Conference on “Sustainable Innovations in Global Logistics and Transport”.

The two-day conference, which begins on Tuesday, includes the Institute’s Annual General Meeting with all events holding at Lagos Oriental Hotel.

The national conference will attract industry stakeholders and experts, according to its National President, Barrister Mfon Usoro, who added that this year’s theme keys into the global conversation about sustainability principles in how businesses, in particular, the logistics and transport sector are conducted.

According to her, the conference has something for everyone, including policy makers, legislators, transport and logistics operators, academia, lawyers and students.

Usoro noted that the key novelty for the conference is the inclusion of diverse industry experts in the planning committee, chaired by an eminent Professor working in collaboration with the National Secretariat to deliver a world class conference.

She explained: “The menu that we present to you is the outcome of collaborative work in content development for the Conference starting from the set-up of a competent conference planning committee, conference website, fully functional online registration and payment portal.

“The innovations introduced into this year’s conference planning has been a huge success as is showcased by the diversity of the session topics which covers industry panel sessions and research papers from the academia centered around the Conference Theme”.

Usoro said that 2022 CILT-N Conference woud not be all work, adding that apart from networking in the cool invigorating ambience of the venue, other exciting social events in the programme include dinners, industry tours, as well as conference closing dinner and dance.

A total of 29 speakers are expected to grace the podium at the conference.

They include former Corps Marshal Commandant, Federal Road Service Commission (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi; FRSC’s Head of Policy, Research and Statistics, Assistant Corps Marshal Kayode Olagunju; National President, CILT-N, Barrister Usoro; Dean. School of Transport and Logistics Lagos State University, Prof. Charles Asenime; Prof. Iyiola Oni of the Centre for Multimodal Studies, University of Lagos; Chairman, Conference Planning Committee, Prof. Kayode Oyesiku, and Professor of Transport and Logistics Management, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Prof. Adebambo Somuyiwa.
